    Industry group Energy Resources Aotearoa's touting our energy sector's progress towards net-zero

    11 December 2025
    The Energy Resources Net Zero Accord update shows direct emissions from the petroleum sector have fallen about 63 percent since 2010.

    It notes venting and flaring from oil and gas production are close to 90 percent lower than 2010 levels.

    MBIE says in the three months to September, nearly 90 percent of all electricity came from renewable sources.
