Long period southwest swell rising to 5 metres. Poor visibility in showers, turning to rain this afternoon. Possible thunderstorms south of Haast River this morning. Tuesday: Westerly 20 knots but 30 knots south of Abut Head. Rising to southwest 35 knots everywhere in the morning, easing to 25 knots in the evening. Sea becoming very rough for a time. Heavy westerly swell. Wednesday: Southwest 20 knots, becoming westerly 10 knots but northerly 20 knots south of Abut Head early. Heavy southwest swell easing. Thursday: Becoming northwest 35 knots but 25 knots south of Abut Head early. Easing to westerly 15 knots everywhere later. Sea becoming very rough for a time. Moderate westerly swell.
