![]() Recreational Marine: Hawke Bay Marine Weather Situation and Forecast issued at 0337hrs Sunday 19-Oct-2025 by MetService Situation: A couple of fronts move north across New Zealand today followed by a narrow ridge of high pressure, then another front approaches Fiordland from the west late Sunday. On Monday, the front off Fiordland moves northeast over the South Island. On Tuesday high pressure over the North Island shifts east as a front moves over the Cook Straight, weakening as it does so. Showery westerlies follow the front, affecting the western and southern areas of the South Island. On Wednesday, a narrow ridge spreads across the country and a new front approaches the western areas of the South Island from the Tasman Sea late in the day. On Thursday, that front moves over the south island ending the day over the central North Island. Forecast for Inshore waters between Cape Kidnappers and Portland Island Nil warnings Sunday: Northwest 15 knots, rising to 20 knots in the afternoon, before changing to westerly 15 knots in the evening. Sea becoming moderate for a time in the afternoon and evening. Cloud increasing. Chance shower from afternoon. Southerly swell half a metre. Monday: Westerly 15 knots, becoming northeast 10 knots early. Becoming northwest 15 knots later. Partly cloudy. Tuesday: Northwest 15 knots, rising to 25 knots for a time in the morning.
