The weak front slowly drifts southwards onto the northern South Island tomorrow. A front lies slow moving over the north of the South Island on Saturday, before moving onto the lower North Island at night. The weakened front is expected to move northwards over the North Island on Sunday, while a ridge builds over the South Island. High pressure covers most of the country on Monday, and a weak front brings showers to Fiordland and Southland.
