Recreational Marine: Mana Marine Weather Situation and Forecast issued at 0341hrs Sunday 21-Dec-2025 by MetService Situation: Cold, showery southwesterlies ease over NZ as a ridge of high pressure moves east over the country from the Tasman Sea. On Monday, a front from the Tasman moves across central and northern areas of the North Island while a second, more active, front affects central and southern NZ. This second front moves to the North Island on Tuesday where it becomes slow-moving. A third front, preceded by northwesterlies, moves north across the country on Chrismas Eve, while a further front moves onto the far south late. The front moves north from the far south to become slow moving over the northern South Island by end of Xmas Day, while a northwest flow develops over the North Island. Forecast for Inshore waters from Pukerua Bay to Makara Beach Nil warnings Sunday: Southerly 15 knots, easing to variable 5 knots this afternoon. Sea slight. Fair visibility in a few showers, clearing this afternoon. Westerly swell 1 metre dying out. Monday: Variable 5 knots. Northwest 20 knots developing in the morning. Rain developing.
