Recreational Marine: Mana Marine Weather Situation and Forecast issued at 1115hrs Monday 08-Dec-2025 by MetService Situation: A ridge persists over the North Island. A couple of fronts move north over the South Island and weaken today. Another front approaches the far south of the South Island from the south Tasman Sea late tomorrow. A front moves slowly northwards over the South Island on Wednesday and weakens, while, another front, which is followed by a change to strong southwesterlies, brings areas of rain to the southern and eastern South Island on Thursday. Meanwhile, a weak ridge of high pressure persists over the North Island, keeping a subtropical low pressure system to the northeast of the North Island at arm's length. A strong southwesterly flow spreads northwards over New Zealand on Friday. Forecast for Inshore waters from Pukerua Bay to Makara Beach Nil warnings Monday: Northerly 20 knots gusting 30 knots, easing to 15 knots this afternoon and to 10 knots this evening. Moderate sea easing this afternoon. Mostly cloudy. Northwest swell 1 metre. Tuesday: Northerly 10 knots. Sea slight. Partly cloudy. Wednesday: Northerly 10 knots, easing to variable 5 knots in the evening. Fine. Thursday: Variable 5 knots, becoming southerly 20 knots early. Changing northerly 15 knots later.
