 Recreational Marine: Northland Marine Weather Situation and Forecast issued at 0130hrs Saturday 10-May-2025 by MetService Nil for BRETT Situation: Today, a front moves off the North Island and away to the east, leaving a ridge of high pressure over most of New Zealand. However, a weak front moves over the far south of the South Island from the west. Tomorrow, the ridge continues to build. A ridge of high pressure dominates northern and central New Zealand Monday to Wednesday. Meanwhile, a weak front passes over the lower South Island on Tuesday. Forecast issued at 2252hrs Friday 09-May-2025 Valid to 1 am Saturday for The Bay of Islands and inshore waters from Cape Brett to the Poor Knights Islands to Bream Head. Saturday: Southerly 15 knots, rising to 20 knots for a time this morning. Sea becoming moderate for a time this morning. Fine apart from afternoon cloud. Northeast swell 2.5 metres easing.
