Becoming westerly 35 knots everywhere this afternoon. Sea becoming very rough everywhere. West of Farewell Spit to Hawera: Westerly swell 5 metres, easing. Elsewhere: Westerly swell rising to 3 metres. Tuesday: Westerly 30 knots, becoming southwest 20 knots but 30 knots west of Farewell Spit to Hawera in the afternoon. Rough sea in the east easing, but becoming rough in the west. Heavy westerly swell easing. Wednesday: Becoming southwest 20 knots everywhere early, easing to variable 10 knots in the morning. Becoming westerly 15 knots later. Rough sea in the west easing. Moderate westerly swell. Thursday: Westerly 15 knots, rising to northwest 25 knots early. Sea becoming rough. Moderate westerly swell.
