On Monday, a high remains over northern New Zealand, while a front over the Southern Ocean reaches the south of the South Island at night. During Tuesday, the front moves north over the South Island and weakens, while a ridge of high pressure lingers over the North Island. On Wednesday, the ridge moves to the east of the North Island, while another front approaches the South Island. The front moves north along the South Island on Thursday while the ridge weakens over the North Island. Forecast for Wellington Harbour and the south coast from Sinclair Head to Baring Head * Strong wind advisory in force * Sunday: Northerly 20 knots, rising to 25 knots gusting 35 knots this morning. Easing back to 20 knots this evening. Sea becoming rough this morning, easing in the evening. Fine spells. For the South Coast and Palliser Bay: Southerly swell 1 metre.
