    Situation:
    A front moves up the South Island today and weakens while a ridge of high pressure remains elsewhere. Tomorrow a strong, moist northwesterly flow develops over the South Island and the ridge weakens over the North Island. A front moves onto the South Island on Monday preceded by a strong, moist northwesterly flow. On Tuesday, this front moves over the North Island, while a low crosses the South Island. The low moves onto the North Island on Wednesday while a ridge of high pressure builds over the South Island from the west.

    Forecast issued at 1128hrs Saturday 15-Mar-2025
    Valid to 1 pm Saturday for Inshore waters from Pukerua Bay to Makara Beach.
    Saturday: Northwest 20 knots, easing to northerly 15 knots late afternoon. Moderate sea easing this afternoon. Partly cloudy. Chance morning shower. Northwest swell 1 metre developing for a time.
    Sunday: Northerly 15 knots, turning northwest 15 knots in the afternoon. Rising to 20 knots for a time in the afternoon and evening. Sea becoming moderate for a time in the afternoon and evening. Low cloud and drizzle. Northwest swell 1 metre developing.

    Outlook until midnight Wednesday:
    Monday: Northwest 15 knots. Occasional rain, clearing. Northwest swell 1
    metre developing.
    Tuesday: Northerly 15 knots, rising to northwest 25 knots early. Showers
    developing. Northwest swell rising to 2 metres.
    Wednesday: Northwest 25 knots, easing to northerly 15 knots early. Becoming
    southerly 15 knots later. Partly cloudy. Northwest swell 2 metres
    dying out.
