High pressure covers most of Aotearoa/New Zealand on Monday while a weak front brings showers to Fiordland and Southland. On Tuesday, the country is dominated by a ridge of high pressure and a weakening southwest flow. High pressure continues across the country on Wednesday, however a front is expected to move onto the far south of the South Island late in the day. High pressures weaken over the North Island while the front continues to cross towards the northern part of the South Island on Thursday. Forecast issued at 0451hrs Sunday 02-Feb-2025 Valid to 7 am Sunday for Inshore waters from Matakana Island to Mayor Island to Motiti Island and then east to Torere River mouth. Sunday: Variable 5 knots. Northeast 10 knots developing this afternoon, turning southeast 15 knots this evening. Sea slight. Fine at first. Poor visibility in heavy showers from afternoon.
