The NZ Sharemarket surged upwards yesterday with the NZX50 up 3.46% percent (408.97 points) from previous close to end the day at 11,807. The most actively traded stock on the bourse, with over 2.4 million shares changing hands was Spark New Zealand Ltd , closing the day up 1% from it's opening to $2.04. The next biggest trader was Barramundi Ltd (65c) with over 837 thousand shares being traded. Rises outweighed falls by 170 to 94, with the star of the day being Smart US Technology (NZD Hedged) ETF Units (, while the biggest loser was Chatham Rock Phosphate Ltd (up 0%). |
